Channels · last updated 26 October 2026
Channels is a private tool used by one person, the channel owner, to run their own YouTube channels. This policy explains what data Channels accesses through Google sign-in, what it does with it, and how to remove access.
Who uses it
Only the channel owner. Channels has no public sign-up and no other users. It only connects to YouTube channels the owner has authorized with Google sign-in (OAuth).
What data it accesses
Through the YouTube API Services (YouTube Data API, YouTube Analytics API, YouTube Reporting API), and only for the owner's own authorized channels:
- The channel's name, ID and list of uploaded videos.
- Each video's title, description, translations, playlists and publishing status.
- The channel's own analytics: views, watch time, average view duration, subscribers, traffic sources, impressions and click-through rate, and revenue once the channel is monetized.
Channels does not access data of other users or other channels, and does not access any non-YouTube Google data.
What it does with the data
- Shows the owner how each of their videos performs, to decide what to make next.
- Uploads videos the owner has approved to the owner's channel (as private, scheduled videos), sets their titles, descriptions, translations and thumbnails, and keeps the channel's own playlists in order.
Channels never posts, comments, likes or subscribes on anyone else's content.
Storage, sharing and deletion
- API data and sign-in tokens are stored only on the owner's own computer, in local files. There is no server or cloud database.
- The data is never sold, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising and never combined with other data about viewers.
- The data is refreshed daily. It is deleted at once when the owner disconnects a channel in the tool (the sign-in is also revoked at Google), and after 30 days without a successful refresh.
Channels' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube and Google terms
Channels uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Removing access
Access can be removed at any time in the tool (Settings → Disconnect) or on the Google security settings page: myaccount.google.com/permissions. Removing access stops all API use at once.
