Channels
A private production tool for the owner's own YouTube channels.
Channels is an internal tool used by one person, the channel owner, to run their own YouTube channels (first: Cozy Cat Rooms). It is not a public service: there are no other users, no sign-up and no accounts.
What it does
- Prepares each video's file, title, description, tags, thumbnail and translations. The owner approves every video before anything is published.
- Uploads approved videos to the owner's channel as private, scheduled videos, sets their translated titles and descriptions, and keeps the channel's own playlists in order.
- Reads the channel's own performance numbers (views, watch time, click-through rate, retention) once a day, so the owner can see which videos work.
Google sign-in
Channels uses Google sign-in (OAuth) only for YouTube channels the owner has authorized, and only accesses those channels' own data through the YouTube Data API, the YouTube Analytics API and the YouTube Reporting API. How that data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
